This three-year residency program begins with an OGME-1r (option 1). The educational goals of our program include training the residents in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of patients while emphasizing the principles of OPP/OMM, medical knowledge, patient care, professionalism, interpersonal skills, system based practice, and practice based learning.
The McLaren Oakland ambulatory care Internal Medicine Clinic is an integral component of the program. This clinic provides care to over 150 patients per week and is supervised by a Medical Center employed general internist. Residents participate in the Educational Program of the Statewide Campus System of the MSUCOM didactic curriculum for Internal Medicine.
First year is OGME-1r (option 1). Students will "match" directly into the residency and the 1st postdoctoral year will be considered the first year of residency training.
