INTERN/RESIDENT PROCEDURE FOR APPLYING Application
Instructions and Requirements
All 4th year medical students applying for osteopathic
internships and residencies will be applying to program(s) of their choice via
ERAS®. Please
consult the following AOA website for the steps in the ERAS application process:

A rotation at POH Regional Medical Center is suggested,
but not a requirement for internship application.
An interview will be scheduled AFTER the application is
received from ERAS.
Application may be submitted anytime before October 1st
of the year prior to the desired contract year. A completed application consists
of the following:
- The completed application form.
- Minimum of three (3) physician references
- Reference from Dean of Medical School
- Medical School Transcripts (official copy)
- National Board Scores (copies acceptable)
- CV
- Personal Statement
RESIDENT/FELLOW Application Instructions and Requirements
Application may be submitted anytime before October 1st
of the year prior to the desired contract year. Interns should submit an
application AFTER beginning their internship.
To apply for a residency/fellowship with POH Regional
Medical Center, please complete all necessary forms and submit all required
documentation to POH Medical Education at the address shown on the
application form.
APPLICATIONS FOR DERMATOLOGY RESIDENCY WILL BE ACCEPTED THROUGH ERAS
ONLY.
It is your responsibility to do the following:
- Distribute the reference forms to the physicians you
have chosen, making sure to supply the name of the physician at the bottom of
the reference form and your name at the top of the form. A personalized letter
of reference, in lieu of or in addition to the form, will also be accepted.
- Request letters from the Dean of your medical school
and the Director of Medical Education (from internship and/or residency).
- Request medical school transcripts and national board
scores.
A personal interview will be scheduled AFTER the
application is completed.

If you do not hear from the specialty trainer as to an interview date, or if you have any questions, please contact the Office of Medical Education.
All interviews should be completed by December of the year prior to desired starting date.
