McLaren Health Care is a fully integrated health
network, committed to quality, evidence-based patient care and cost
efficiency. The McLaren system includes eight hospitals, ambulatory surgery
centers, imaging centers, freestanding dialysis centers, a regional network of
cancer centers and providers, an employed primary care physician network,
assisted living facilities, commercial and Medicaid HMOs, home health care and
hospice, durable medical equipment and a wholly-owned medical malpractice
insurance company. McLaren has 13,000 employees and more than 7,000 network
physicians.
With over 500 funded residency and fellowship positions in both allopathic
and osteopathic graduate medical education programs, McLaren is one of the
largest producers of newly accredited physicians in the country.

substantial expense stream, McLaren co-founded PHNS, a nationally acclaimed
health care information technology outsourcing firm. With over 400 hospital
customers, PHNS is today one of the fastest growing IT and business process
services firms in the health care industry. With its partnership with PHNS,
McLaren continues to make strategic and tactical investments in its IT
infrastructure including EMR, fiber-optic cabling, portable digital
communication workstations, wireless networks, VOIP and web-enabled data

- Bay Regional
Medical Center (BRMC), located in Bay City,
Michigan, is a not-for-profit, 404-bed acute care hospital providing
specialty, primary and preventive services including cardiovascular,
neuroscience, women’s health, orthopedics, rehabilitation, home health and
hospice care, EMS, oncology and a Level II Trauma Center. Bay Regional has
earned a 5-Star ranking from Healthgrades for Clinical Excellence in orthopedics
and spinal surgery. BRMC is affiliated with Michigan State University College
of Osteopathic Medicine through its family practice residency program.
- Bay Special Care Hospital is a
31-bed acute care facility located in Bay City, Michigan specializing in the
care and treatment of patients with special medical needs that require lengths
of stay greater than 25 days.
- Great Lakes Cancer Institute (GLCI) is a network of cancer centers that includes Ingham Regional Medical
Center in Lansing, McLaren Regional Medical Center in Flint, Bay Regional
Medical Center in Bay City, Lapeer Regional Hospital in Lapeer, POH Regional
Medical Center in Pontiac, Mount Clemens Regional Medical Center in Mount
Clemens and Memorial Cancer Center in Owosso. With its growing statewide
network of hospitals, oncologists and community practitioners, GLCI was
created by McLaren Health Care to facilitate the integration of the oncology
research and educational resources of Michigan State University College of
Human Medicine with the physicians and facilities associated with the McLaren
system. The result is the timely delivery of newly discovered treatment
options as well as established standards of care to physicians and patients.
- Ingham Regional Medical Center
(IRMC), a nonprofit, tertiary teaching facility with 310 acute
care beds is located in Lansing, Michigan. IRMC is home to one of the region’s
leading cardiac programs; state-of-the-art clinical centers for radiation
oncology and women and children’s health; medical/surgical units; and a
full-service pharmacy. IRMC’s residency programs are affiliated with Michigan
State University College of Osteopathic Medicine, Michigan State University
College of Human Medicine, and the Statewide Campus System. Residencies
include family medicine, internal medicine, general surgery,
obstetric/gynecological surgery, orthopedic surgery, and physical medicine and
rehabilitation. Fellowships are offered in cardiology, hematology/oncology and
sports medicine. IRMC also participates in a citywide emergency medicine
residency program
- Ingham Regional Orthopedic Hospital
(IROH), a nonprofit, specialty
facility with a total of 79 care beds, offers inpatient and outpatient
services for the treatment and repair of orthopedic degenerative disease,
injury and trauma. The health care quality rating firm, Healthgrades, ranks the orthopedic
program as being in the top 10% in clinical quality among orthopedic programs
nationwide. Additional services provided at IROH include an inpatient
geropsychiatry unit; urgent care center; and a nationally renowned sleep
disorders center.
- Lapeer Regional Medical Center
(LRMC) is a 222-bed, non-profit, acute care facility located in
Lapeer, Michigan. LRMC is the primary provider of health care services to
Lapeer County and the surrounding area. It offers comprehensive care with a
24-hour Emergency Center and specialized services for heart, cancer,
orthopedic and general surgery services, physical medicine and rehabilitation,
women’s services, sleep disorders, and other areas of care.
- McLaren Health Care Village at
Clarkston represents the largest ground-up development in the
history of the corporation. The $500 million health care village, located on
80 acres of prime real estate in northern Oakland County, is being developed
in three phases. Phase I opened in May 2009. Components of Phase I include a
138,000 sq. ft. Medical Office Building, a 45,000 sq. ft. freestanding cancer
center and an eight-acre "healing garden" with walking paths, a meditation
labyrinth and numerous water features. Phase II will include a 200-bed acute
care inpatient facility, two additional medical office buildings, a
comprehensive outpatient cardiovascular center and a mixed use retail/office
complex. A 100-bed expansion to the hospital is planned for Phase III.
- McLaren Health Plan (MHP) is a licensed HMO offering healthcare
benefits to over 210,000 commercial, self-funded and Medicaid beneficiaries in
17 Michigan counties. McLaren Health Plan also owns a Third Party
Administrator called Health Advantage, Inc. which provides full healthcare
administrative services for employers, including offering full commercial
health coverage for self-funded companies. For each of the past six years,
McLaren Health Plan has earned the prestigious Pinnacle Award from the Michigan Association of Health
Plans. McLaren Health Plan is also accredited by the National Committee for
Quality Assurance (NCQA) where they have earned the accreditation status of
"Excellent" for the past six years.
- McLaren Medical Group (MMG)
manages the corporate ambulatory network consisting of more than 50 primary
and specialty centers located throughout a 14 county region. More than 150
physicians are part of this network. For the past six years, MMG’s community
medical centers have earned the Governor’s Award of Excellence for Patient
Care Standards in Preventative Medicine. Regional EMS, the corporation’s
ambulance service, is positioned under the MMG structure, but has its own
governing board.
- McLaren Regional Medical
Center (MRMC), a nonprofit, tertiary teaching
facility with 416 beds located in Flint, Michigan. MRMC is affiliated with
Michigan State University College of Human Medicine in its medical residency
programs, including family practice, internal medicine, general surgery,
orthopedic surgery and radiology. MRMC also maintains a hematology/oncology
fellowship program and a surgical oncology fellowship. MRMC has earned the
Distinguished Hospital Award for Patient Safety by Healthgrades, Inc.
from
2005-2009. Certified as a Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan Cardiac Center of
Excellence, MRMC is also designated as a Bariatric Surgery Center of
Excellence by the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. Other
service line centers of focus include cancer, orthopedics, neurosciences,
kidney services, women’s services and minimally-invasive surgery.
- Mount Clemens Regional Medical Center
(MCRMC) is a 288-bed acute care
hospital located in Mount Clemens, Michigan. More than 460 physicians and
2,200 employees work at MCRMC, making it one of Macomb County’s largest
employers. MCRMC provides a full range of services, including cardiovascular
care at the Mat Gaberty Heart Center, comprehensive cancer services at the Ted
B. Wahby Cancer Center, comprehensive orthopedic services and a
state-of-the-art elective Surgery Center. The hospital operates one of the
busiest Emergency Centers in the area. MCRMC is a leader in osteopathic
graduate medical education and serves as a base hospital site for medical
students from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine,
University of Des Moines and University of Health Sciences College of
Osteopathic Medicine.
- POH Regional Medical Center (POHRMC)
is a
328-bed medical center which provides primary and specialty health care
services guided by the principles of Osteopathic Medicine and the values of
excellence, integrity, diversity and compassion. Founded in 1953, POHRMC has
grown from one small clinic to a full-fledged medical community that includes
more than 300 physicians, an inpatient hospital in downtown Pontiac and eight
satellite facilities throughout north Oakland County. POHRMC offers AOA
approved residency and fellowship programs in anesthesiology emergency
medicine, family practice, general surgery, internal medicine, dermatology,
ophthalmology, orthopedic surgery, podiatry, radiology, and otolaryngology and
facial plastic surgery.
- Visiting Nurse Services of Michigan
(VNSM) manages home health care
and hospice services, home medical equipment and infusion services, and retail
pharmacy services for the corporation. Divisions include McLaren Visiting
Nurse and Hospice, McLaren Home Medical, and McLaren Pharmacy Services.
These divisions serve more than 375,000 patients and businesses in 25 counties
throughout Michigan. While corporate headquarters are located in Genesee
County, Michigan, the organization also maintains regional offices in Macomb
County, Ingham County, Oakland County, Bay County and Lapeer County, along
with two residential hospice facilities and retail storefronts in 12 locations
throughout southeast and mid-Michigan.
