Incoming Residents

Congratulations and Welcome to POH. We are very excited you will be joining the POH team. To ensure you can start on July 1, please carefully review the information below and complete the required trainings.

Required Trainings

The training modules below must be completed by June 28, 2010. Following each training module, you will be required to take a test. You must submit a copy of your certificate of completion from the module or answers to the tests to Medical Education.

These items must be completed and submitted prior to the start of orientation or you will not start your residency program. 

The seven required trainings that must be completed are as follows:

OMM Training

To best prepare for your first year of training at POHRMC and to assist in your development of competency in osteopathic principles and practice, please view the Osteopathic Musculoskeletal programs.

NIH Stroke Scale

POH and 34 other hospitals in Michigan in partnership with the American Heart Association, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and others, has launched a 5 year program entitled the Michigan Stroke Registry and Quality Improvement Program (MiSRQIP). The aim is to improve stroke patient outcomes and the status of stroke care throughout Michigan. Thirty-four hospitals representing a cross section of Michigan are participating in the Michigan Stroke Registry. POH is a participating hospital.

As a participating hospital all patient care providers are required to take the NIH Stroke Training and Certification.

Restraint Policy

POH is committed to patient rights. Guidelines have been established to promote rights, maintain dignity and maximize safety of the confused, disoriented and/or agitated patient when the use of restraint is deemed necessary to protect the patient from injury or to protect others.

Please review the POH Restraint Policy attached. Once familiar with the policy please take the quiz and return to Medical Education.
