Description
Provide health care service to children including:
- Well visits
- Immunizations
- Acute care visits
- Sick care
- Sports physicals Nearly 10,000 children in Oakland County are without health care coverage. For many of our youth, the POH Children's Health Services is their only resource for much needed medical attention.
Opened in 1995 and the only one of its kind in the county, POH Children's Health Services provides free health care services to more than 2,500 patients each year. Children from birth through 18 years of age receive acute and preventative health care services, including wellness exams, immunizations and specialty care.
We have been able to reduce the number of emergency room visits and significantly raise the rate of immunized children in our community. Because of this, the Children's Health Services has received the Blue Cross Blue Shield Sapphire Award and the Michigan Department of Community Health Recognition Award for improving the health status and well-being of children.
We pride ourselves on treating all children with compassion and respect, while delivering excellent care regardless of their ability to pay. Although the Clinic is a United Way Partner and receives some grant funding, McLaren-Oakland is still the primary resource for supporting these free services.
Your continued support is so crucial to the health and well-being of our community's children - the faces of the future.
